Principal's Message

Welcome to Mt. Ayr Middle/High School, home of the Raiders and Raiderettes. At Mt. Ayr Community High School (MACHS), we are fortunate to have the tremendous support of the communities that make up our district: Maloy, Benton, Redding, Delphos, Kellerton, Beaconsfield, Ellston, Tingley and Mt. Ayr. The secondary building was constructed in 1979 and houses approximately 300 students. The building's auditorium seats 400 and the gymnasium seats about 1800 spectators. We are proud of our new gymnasium for our middle school students.

If you are fortunate enough to walk the halls at MACHS, you soon realize that we all are a big family, putting a huge emphasis on relationships. We have a very caring and supportive staff that always puts the students first. I feel our staffs’ commitment and our board’s support is what allows us to provide our students with an excellent educational experience.

At Mount Ayr Community High School, we are working to accommodate 21st Century learners and striving for technology integration in all classes. MACHS provides a laptop computer to all middle and high school students. Utilizing technology is one way that we can assist our students in developing concepts and 21st Century skills. We are very excited about offering Project Lead the Way (PLTW) classes. PLTW is a hands on curriculum that focuses on engineering principles that bring science and math alive for all who take the course. Through our secure, password protected, Powerschool parent-student portal, parents may access information about their child including current class schedule, grades, student announcements and lunch account balance.

Please join us in our efforts to continue the great tradition of excellence in academics, activities, athletics and the arts at Mt. Ayr Community School District.
