College Classes

Students taking college classes this semester need to turn in the form whether you want to count the class in your gpa or not. These are due today, Feb. 13th.

Day in the school year Today is Tuesday, February 12, 2013. It is day 110, and it's only 2 day until Valentines Day.


If you are planning to attend college and would like help filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), stop by the guidance office to set up a free appointment with an expert from Iowa College Access Network. You or your parents can schedule a 30-minute appointment anytime from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18th, here at the high school. When you sign up, we will give you a list of what you need to bring for the meeting. Please register by Feb. 13th.

Second Semester Classes

If you have seven classes in your schedule for second semester, and you would like to drop one class, you have until Feb. 20th to do that.

College Rep

A representative from Missouri Western State University will be here on Tues.,Feb. 12th, at 1:00 p.m.


The Local and Judge Lewis scholarship applications are now available in the guidance office. These are due Feb. 28th.

Tech Squad is collecting... The Raider Tech Squad is fundraising to collect empty inkjet and laser cartridges, used cell phones, and small electronics. You can drop off your items in the bins that are located on both ends of the school entryways. What we recycle, the funds will go to the one on one programs.

United Methodist Men's Scholarship The Mount Ayr United Methodist Men's scholarship application forms are available in the high school guidance counselor's office. Please see Betty Lou to get your application form. Deadline for the applications is April 15, 2013.

A Message from Mrs. Wallace.... Absolutely.....Positively.....students may NOT leave school grounds under any circumstanes unless you have open campus. This means ONLY SENIORS have the PRIVLEDGE to leave school grounds. If you leave school without permission, there will be stiff consequences.

Lifeguarding If you are interested in Lifeguarding Certification training, please see Mrs. Poore.


We have the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary scholarship application in the guidance office. If you are planning to pursue a career in healthcare, you are eligible to apply. Deadline is March 15th.

State Wrestling Pep Bus We will be taking a pep bus to state wrestling on Thursday, if at least 20 people sign up. Cost is $10, that will cover your bus ride & the ticket to get in. You must be paid & signed up by 8:30 tomorrow morning. Elementary students are welcome to ride but have to have an adult with them. The bus will leave at 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Sign up & pay in the high school office.

Student Council

There will be a High School Student Council meeting on Monday, February 18th, during seminar.

Prom Sign-up Prom is approaching quickly. If you are planning on bringing someone from out of town to the prom, you must sign them up. There is a sign-up sheet for out of town dates in the office. You must put down their name
