Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences will be held in the high school on Tuesday, March 10th and Thursday, March 12th. Conferences will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 both days. There will be no school on Friday, March 13th.
Conferences will be student led with just one of your child's teachers. All students will have evidence of their learning on their e-portfolios that will be shared with parents.
Please contact Diana either through email (firstname.lastname@example.org), phone (464-0512), or the school Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mount-Ayr-Community-School/702029776486105
to schedule the day you would like for the conference and the time frame that works for you. Please also let Diana know the teacher that you and your child would like to meet with most and a second and third choice if possible. Some core subject teachers have between 100 and 140 students on their roster so their schedule gets full quickly so you may not get your first choice. Example: Thursday from 5:00-7:00 with Mrs. Gerber and Mr. Larsen as a second choice and Mrs. Howie as third choice.
If you would like to have an additional conference privately with a teacher and not have your child attend this conference, please contact the teacher to set up a date and time or have a phone conference.
If we do not hear from you by February 25, we will assign your child a day, time, and teacher to meet with for conferences.
Your child will receive a 10 point bonus coupon to be used in the class of your child's choice if a parent and the student comes to parent-teacher conferences.
Please call the school at 464-0512 if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you at conferences!
Welcome to Mt. Ayr Middle/High School, home of the Raiders and Raiderettes. At Mt. Ayr Community High School (MACHS), we are fortunate to have the tremendous support of the communities that make up our district: Maloy, Benton, Redding, Delphos, Kellerton, Beaconsfield, Ellston, Tingley and Mt. Ayr. The secondary building was constructed in 1979 and houses approximately 300 students. The building's auditorium seats 400 and the gymnasium seats about 1800 spectators. We are proud of our new gymnasium for our middle school students.
If you are fortunate enough to walk the halls at MACHS, you soon realize that we all are a big family, putting a huge emphasis on relationships. We have a very caring and supportive staff that always puts the students first. I feel our staffs’ commitment and our board’s support is what allows us to provide our students with an excellent educational experience.
At Mount Ayr Community High School, we are working to accommodate 21st Century learners and striving for technology integration in all classes. MACHS provides a laptop computer to all middle and high school students. Utilizing technology is one way that we can assist our students in developing concepts and 21st Century skills. We are very excited about offering Project Lead the Way (PLTW) classes. PLTW is a hands on curriculum that focuses on engineering principles that bring science and math alive for all who take the course. Through our secure, password protected, Powerschool parent-student portal, parents may access information about their child including current class schedule, grades, student announcements and lunch account balance.
Please join us in our efforts to continue the great tradition of excellence in academics, activities, athletics and the arts at Mt. Ayr Community School District. If you have questions or want to know more about our school, please contact us at (641) 464-0510. Or, contact me directly at email@example.com
