If you are planning to attend Iowa State University, please stop by the guidance office to pick up information about the Christina Hixson Opportunity Award. Deadline to apply is February 1.

College Rep

A representative from Iowa Central Community College will be here on Thursday, November 10, at 11:00 a.m.


We have the following scholarship applications in the guidance office:

1. AXA Achievement & Community Scholarships - for students active in your community with leadership skills. Deadline is December 1.

2. Hy-Vee Foundation - for students employed at Hy-Vee, or students whose parents are employed at Hy-Vee. Deadline is Feb. 10, 2012.

3. Iowa Newspaper Foundation - for students interested in a newspaper career. February 10th is the deadline to apply.

Senior girls

The PEO STAR Scholarship application is due in the guidance office by Monday, Nov. 14.

Jr. Farmers 4-H Club Jr. Farmers 4-H Club meeting & family potluck/holiday party is this Sunday night, November 13th at 5:30 at the Warin's. Bring a dish to share & a grab bag gift.

College Rep

A representative from Indian Hills Community College will be here on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 1:00 p.m.

Health Career Day Any Junior or Senior who has an interest in pursuing a career as a health professional is invited to attend the Health Science Career Day at SWCC on Friday, Nov. 18th. Please contact the guidance office for more info. You must be signed up by Tuesday, Nov. 15th. Space is limited - first come, first served.

FCA Bowling FCA Bowling after the play on Friday night. We will meet at the bowling alley right after the play.

ITEDS - To be eligible for a reward day. We will begin taking ITEDS next week, starting on Monday at 8:30. All high school students could be eligible for a reward/free day if you meet the following criteria: 1. Students who scored at or above the 49th percentile last year can score no lower than 8 percentile points below last year's score. 2. Students who scored below the 49th percentile last year will need to score at or above the 41st percentile this year. For more information please check your email.
