Questions and Answers about the Future of MACS 1-to-1 Initiative

What is a 1-to-1 initiative?

  • A 1-to-1 initiative is when a district purchases laptops or tablets (such as an iPad) for every student at the level they are choosing to start with. This eliminates the need for computer labs, laptop carts and limited number of classes being able to use them at a time.

Why does Mt. Ayr Community Schools need a 1-to-1?

  • A 1-to-1 program is needed in our school district to allow the educators in the district to better prepare our students for the future workforce that they will be encountering. This will allow our district to provide consistency and equality across all levels for all students. The students will have better collaborating skills, wil be able to create and produce a wide variety of things and the students will be able to connect with others virtually. All of these things will help meet the needs of 21st Century Learning and the Iowa Core Curriculum. To learn more about the Iowa Core Curriculum please visit the link below.
